a balance of contrasts, a play between structure and fluidity – brutalist is a lantern that challenges perception. this sculptural light object transforms rigid steel into an organic form, as if unfolding from another dimension.

each lantern is composed of interlocking steel segments, pieced together like a puzzle. despite its hard two dimensional industrial material and rigorous assembly, the silhouette is soft, shifting between mechanical and organic, geometric and fluid. it recalls the shape of something familiar, maybe a futuristic motor cylinder or an ancient artifact – something both familiar and alien, as if it belonged to another world or an advanced civilization lost in time.

available in two versions (tall-legged and short-legged) brutalist lantern draws inspiration from the oki-gata stone lanterns found in zen gardens. reinterpreted with a contemporary vision, timeless and modern boldness. its form casts intricate shadows, creating an atmospheric play of light that feels eternal, futuristic and timeless.
