2022 meet us – masterstudio design, fhnw hgk  

what if portraits could come to life? inspired by the moving paintings of harry potter, we brought this magic into the world of the renowned fachhochschule nordwestschweiz, hochschule für gestaltung und kunst (fhnw hgk) masterstudio design – former masterstudio industrial and integrative design. for the «meet us» campaign of the masterstudio, we had the honor of being part of the development team, creating a fresh and playful way to introduce the people behind the studio – students, professors and mentors.

instead of the usual static images, we captured living portraits: first, a still pose, then a subtle movement, interacting with an object that represents their work – a design tool, a material, a prototype – before settling back into another pose. 

this small but powerful motion makes each portrait human, dynamic and full of creative energy, just like the masterstudio itself.

the goal? to make the apply now campaign feel less like an ad and more like an invitation. to bring the creative studio atmosphere directly to future applicants, showing them what it’s like to be part of a space where ideas come to life.
